Are there any online resources which can help me identify books based on a description of plot items?

Over the years, there have been many books that I’ve read which I have wanted to share with others. Unfortunately, many of the titles, authors, and other identifiable details escape me. Are there any online resources where I can describe what I remember of the books and people can try to help me identify the title?

How about here? Personally, I’ve described something here (a movie, to be precise) and I got good help almost immediately. Although a book might take longer, I definitely advise you to give it a try and maybe you’ll get the help you seek. As for resources on the net specifically for such purpose, I cannot say I know any. Good luck!

You could try amazon.com and input a keyword, something specific to the story you’re thinking of. I think you could then organize the findings by publication date which might help.
