Yesterday was the first time I was asked about my computer skills and the interviewer did not want to hear the details or give me specifics as to what program or area of computer usage they were referring to she just wanted a one word answer- excellent or good.
Since, she wasn’t interested in my questions regarding this I said excellent and she went on to the next question. Is this the new way of interviewing?

So I do have lots of computer skills and am confident in them. At the same time I am a bit nervous because I have a computer skills test in a couple days and I haven’t done office work for a year. So I was just hoping to review or practice basic computer skills before the test. Any ideas on how to practice or websites I can use??

I’m suppose to write a 2 paragraph essay, about a question that asks,
“How will you use the skills you learned in Computers in your vocation and/or academic courses?’
I have to explain how I’m going to use, how I type at the keyboard, my techniques and skills with the keyboard, the importance of ergonomics (how you sit at the computer), word proccessing, presentation programs, spreadsheet programs, and database programs.
My career choice is 3D animation, but how do I talk about how I’m going to use these skills and stuff in my line of work?

A while back, there was a listing for a company that was looking for parents who were willing to travel to local daycares in their area (specifically the Twin Cities) to teach basic computer skills to daycare children and they were paid hourly. Any help would be appreciated.

This question is for librarians who are recent graduates, those that are in a mater of library and information science program and those that have been working for a short while as a librarian.
I have a nutrition degree without any computer classes. I know only basic stuff such as sending and receiving e-mail, surfing the net, and using Word for typing. Thus,
1) What computer skills are needed to as a librarian nowadays?(Please include the type of librarian you are/will become, public or private library and the computer skills needed)
2) Do you feel I would need to take further computer classes to prepare for a master of library and information science? What computer classes would you recommend?
3) Generally, what types of librarian requires the least knowledge of computers and information technology? What types require the most?
Thank you very much. Your help is greatly appreciated.

I have been an office manager for a few years but it’s at a lower-tech business: martial arts schools. So I only have to know Microsoft Office Suite. I’m thinking about applying to be an office manager outside this field in a regular business. What computer programs and skills do I need to have under my belt?

I have a basic computer degree, but I have to upgrade my skills in order to function in the real world, the college curriculum was too theoretical and did not address the needs of Industries. Suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
