For example, us English-speakers usually say that French is a romantic, nice sounding language and German is quite harsh. What do people say about the sound of the English language?

I’ve been told that English sounds like barking dogs, and I have always wondered what it would sound like if I couldn’t understand it. Ive heard that German sounds similar to the untrained ear, but is there any other Germanic language that you can’t tell apart from English??? Or is German the closest?

Shakira learnt english in 2001, and all her english songs since then, have been writing by her. So, considering Spanish is her native language and english is almost a new language for her, I would like to know your opinion about her skills as an english language songwriter.

If you have the book New World Reader 2nd edition you may look at the photo Coca Cola in Egypt. You may also look at the essays Mute in an English-Only world by C. Lee and The Making of a New American Language by I. Stavans to better assist you in answering this question.

Till now, I always have a goal. That is to have a good command of English. I hope I can really be very well spoken like the Eurasian and to be able to write very well like a teacher. I enjoy reading very much and have been reading a lot since young especially newspapers. However, I think I am still no good in it. Is there anyone working very hard to improve your english language or Is there anyone who is very good in it share with me what you had done to be good in this area and what I should do now.

How did English language reach America? Were the colonizers like Britain supposed to keep their English to themselves? did they share or teach it to them? Why did the writer of their Constitution used English? Before the colonizers came, the people there already had a language. Why did they chose English?

I’m a teacher applying for secondary level jobs and some jobs say English and others Language Arts and others still English Language Arts. I’ve taught overseas for the last 8 years and have never heard of language arts taught at the high school level so I’m confused.

I’m doing book research and I need opinions (From multilingual people) about how the english language compares to other languages in categories like emotional expression, idioms, etc. Also, if you know a word or phrase in a foreign language which the english language doesn’t have a word for, etc, I’d like that information, too.
