In any one’s experiences is a home study of A levels a good idea?
Posted by admin on September 4, 2008I have recently started sixth form after a year’s break from leaving high school for certain reasons (which won’t go into) i found high school very difficult to deal with. After a few years of stress for both me and my parents i was finally home tutored through my GCSE’s which i passed. I then intended to spend the year working and doing my fashion a level at home, though i didn’t really manage to find a job. Now i have started collage i feel i face the same problems i had a school, i went to my doctor and they have refer me to psychologist who can hopefully help me. But with the state of the NHS i doubt it’ll be any time soon, my parents have looked for a private one but there don’t seem to be many in my area. In the meantime i don’t feel i’m able to attend collage for my person reasons.
I’ve been considering using ICS or somebody similar to do the rest of my A levels at home, as i already have one i would be looking at doing another two. Now i know from experience that it isn’t that easy to study at home, but found that with my fashion a level because it is more creative it isn’t too much of a strain. But for the other two i’d want to do Business Studies and English language which are far more academic. So my questions really are:
In any ones experience is a home study of more than one A level a good idea?
Will universities (if i do decide to go) treat me the same as if i had a levels from actual physical collages?
From experience has anyone found that a home study has held them back in terms of potential jobs?
Thank you,

Universities LIKE home educated students. Taking and passing A Levels at home demonstrates that you are self motivated, mature and able to work without constant supervision and spoon-feeding. It absolutely won’t hold you back!
